It’s holiday movie time! I’m so excited to pull out some of my favorites and curl up in front of the fireplace, with the tree lights glowing and a mug of hot chocolate to watch my movies. Top favorites include: National Lampoon’s Holiday Vacation, The Holiday and Love Actually. What are some of your favorites?

Ok, so this is too much information, but I just have to put it out there. Isn’t that what my blog is for?
I keep sneezing and almost every time I sneeze snot comes flying out of my nose. So then I have to quick clean up the snot on my face, check to make sure snot didn’t land on something on my desk, sweater or something else important and then clean up my hands which, by this point, are now covered in snot.
I feel like I’m five.

The Tree
I already posted a photo of my tree with just the lights on it. 
Once we arrive back in KC tomorrow we'll work on putting the rest of the decorations on it. But, I wanted to tell the story of the tree.
After we moved in to the house I was telling a co-worker about the layout and I mentioned that we had an atrium area where I planned to put our Christmas tree. I told her I was planning to use our six-foot tree this year, but would be checking out the end-of-season and after-Christmas sales for a tall tree to put in the atrium. Well, as luck would have it her parents had a 12-foot pre-lit tree sitting in their basement that they'd been trying to get rid of. She said we could have it so in mid-October the tree was delivered and I'd been waiting impatiently ever since for the chance to put it up.
Last weekend we put it up.
The bottom layer of the tree was huge. We could not open our door to the backyard with that layer on it. So, we took out the bottom layer and used the second layer as our base. Perfect. The tree looks great and at 10 feet tall is the perfect height to be seen in our kitchen and in the family room.
